Science, Technology and Society – Fusions of Horizons in Anthropology – 24th EAA Congress
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 24th Congress of the European Anthropological Association, held in Budapest, Hungary, from 25–28 August 2026.
This year’s congress, “Science, Technology and Society – Fusions of Horizons in Anthropology”, is particularly special as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the European Anthropological Association (1976–2026). We are delighted to bring together researchers, educators, students and professionals from across Europe and beyond to exchange ideas, present new findings and strengthen international collaborations in biological anthropology.
The scientific program covers a wide range of topics, including human evolution and bioarchaeology, genomics, growth and development, forensic anthropology, biomedical anthropology, sports anthropology and the application of artificial intelligence in anthropological research.
We hope that EAA 2026 Congress will provide not only an inspiring scientific experience but also an opportunity to build new friendships and collaborations while enjoying the hospitality and cultural richness of Budapest.

We invite every participant of the EAA 2026 Congress to choose or build a LEGO minifigure that represents them and place it on our international guest board together with their name and country. By the end of the congress, the board will become a colourful snapshot of our anthropological community from across Europe and around the world.
- Already have a favourite LEGO minifigure? Bring it with you and let it represent you on the board!
- No figure at hand? No problem! We will provide many-many minifigures and accessories from which you can create and personalize your own congress avatar.
At the end of the congress, we will take a group photograph of the completed LEGO Guest Board and share it on the congress website and social media channels as a lasting memory of EAA 2026.
We are looking forward to meeting our Colleagues at Eötvös Loránd University! Together we will build not only a LEGO Guest Board, but also new friendships, collaborations and memories during the 24th Congress of the European Anthropological Association in Budapest.
